Unaware of this further cheapening of food, I accidentally purchased something called ‘Cultured Dairy Blend’ when I meant to buy yogurt. WTF is this stuff? This crap is nasty . I had no idea they had found a way to cheapen yogurt. Pasty and filled with all sorts of artificial sweeteners, I couldn’t stand more than a spoonful before I flushed it down the toilet. During the same shopping trip I also purchased ‘Dairy Dessert’ instead of ice cream; that was edible, but certainly not ice cream, and better than the ice milk I remember as a kid.

Not surprisingly, this stuff was purchased at a new discount market near me that I thought was fairly decent. I guess I got lucky with the items purchased during my first trip because I don’t recall anything from that visit being as awful as this . The Walmart-ization of almost every facet of life continues, relentlessly driving down costs in order to meet a price point, quality be damned. The automotive sector seems to have escaped this trend, thankfully, but then again, we don’t have any Chinese cars on our roads - yet.

Your first paragraph almost makes it sound like you just woke up from a 20 year coma.

Hey, Chinese cars are improving.

It's just the crap that has been made for the past (many) years that we have to avoid.

Thank you. I hate Chobani, it tastes just like he mentioned. Only overpriced.

FAGE FTW

It feels like it sometimes. I was recently laid off, so I’ve been trying to save a few bucks buy shopping at stores I’m not familiar with in order to save a buck. Bad move.

Thankfully my mother is a great cook, and I’ve learned quite a bit from her. Now that I have a little extra time on my hands I’ll go back to cooking from scratch, hopefully with some decent quality ingredients.

Chobani is one of the worst.

Terrible, terrible crap.

Finally, I am not the only one with this opinion.

One time, I smelled what I thought was puke.

It was... Chobani.

Cooking is a great money saver. Cook a couple decent meals and eat off of them the whole week.

Lmao! I tried Chobani once, it was some blueberry mixed one and after one bite I said NOPE. Fage by itself tastes great, I just mix in my own granola.

I'm not a fan of plain FAGE, but I do like it with some flavors like honey, or the fruit that they provide.

If you think that’s bad, you should have tried the soylent green. Tasted like somebody’s feet.
